Setting Goals for 2025

Yiasas, and Happy Day!

A FAMOUS HARVARD STUDY REVEALED THIS SURPRISING FACT:

  • 83% of people don’t set goals.

  • 14% have goals but don’t write them down.

  • Only 3% write them down- and they achieve 10x more

Write down your goals- it's a proven game-changer.  WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS.

POSSIBLE GOALS BREAKDOWN:

  • Hourly

  • Daily

  • Weekly

  • Monthly

  • Quarterly

  • Annually

Let’s take a look at daily goals.  Daily goals are more effective when they are developed into the broader context or, monthly or long-term goals, such as mine, one of which is to write/work on my book.

Doing the daily to larger goal scenario produces a broader sense of clarity and direction and can better inform you what each day should look like.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Each day check off your goals once they are completed.  This check or accomplishment will allow you to celebrate little wins.

WHEN TO SET GOALS:

Whatever the size your goal, best to set in the morning.  Writing your goals in the morning sets your intentions for the day.  Start your day with what needs to be done and get after it.

BE A STEWARD OF YOUR TIME:

Due to the fact that time can get away from you, it’s helpful for you to use timers such as the tomato timer found on line. Set any time goal for a project or task.

FOR EXAMPLE: you want to write for 30 minutes without interruption.  Set your tomato timer for 30 minutes, put your devices on airplane mode and get writing. When the timer goes off, you get a break or you go to the next mini goal.

Thank you, Kathryn, for this useful tool of time management.

THE 5 C’s:

This 5C’s philosophy/skills is borrowed from a coaching website in London: 5Cs

  • Commitment

  • Communication

  • Concentration

  • Control

  • Confidence

While these skills are developed for young athletes, parents and practitioners to embrace their particular demands, they are helpful to mainstream population.

WHAT ELSE?

  • Set your goals any way that works for you but be sure to be motivated by your goals

  • Make goals attainable.

  • Goals should be timely.

NOTE TO SELF:

If you improve by 1% every day, winning a year you’ll have improved by 365%

I hope this mini blog gets you excited to set, act on and achieve your goals for 2025!

Wishing you much success taking action steps this year.

And as the Greeks say...Καλή σηνεχια or a good continuation.
